The International Women’s Club of Dublin (IWCD) is a social club with two main objectives. One is to welcome and assist newcomers and their families to Ireland. The other is to further members’ knowledge and understanding of Ireland.
Being a part of the IWCD will help make Dublin feel like home more quickly by making new friends and participating in some of the many activities that we offer. You will have the support of women who are established within Dublin.
The IWCD is entirely volunteer run. Depending upon volunteer skills and member demand we offer a variety of activities throughout the club year. Below is a sample of some of our activities.
monthly meetingsOur monthly meetings are an opportunity to meet other members over a cup of coffee or tea, and listen to guest speakers who talk on a variety of interesting subjects. The Club meets monthly from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on the second Tuesday of each month during our membership season that runs from September to June. | Language conversation groupsLearning a language through a friendly conversation is the best way to master it. Our English, French, Italian, German, Spanish and Russian Conversation Groups will help you to become fluent through their gentle and friendly guidance over a cup of tea or coffee. These groups meet once or twice a month. | book clubsMorning Book Club & Evening Book Club |
golf lessons and golf societyMembers of the IWCD have the opportunity to learn to play golf or improve their swing through group lessons arranged by the club, and playing with the Golf Society! Lessons have been ongoing for nearly 10 years. We have all levels from beginners to great golfers, all looking to improve their game and share a coffee or tea afterwards and chat. It is a very positive and encouraging environment that keeps the ladies coming back. | hillwalkingOn the doorstep of Dublin City are the wonderful Wicklow Mountains, which offer spectacular panoramic views of the sea, lakes, forests and countryside. The Dublin coastline also provides picturesque routes to walk along. Discover all this and more with the IWCD Hill Walking group. Participants have mentioned these (amongst other) benefits: feeling fitter, making new friends, improving their language skills, enjoying the beautiful Irish countryside. | cookery demonstrationsGet to know, make and taste recipes from all over the world. Our Members are keen on sharing their cuisine and food culture. Those moments of delicious discovery and joyful mingling will make you travel around the world. |
